Unparalleled expertise, innovative solutions, and a culture committed to one goal: delivering superior results for clients
CSG Partners is a fast-growing boutique investment bank focused on solving the needs of middle-market companies and owners. Founded in 2001, the firm has grown into a leading advisor in three service areas: ESOPs, mergers and acquisitions, and capital advisory services. We have built a reputation of having the nation’s leading ESOP investment banking practice.
Originally named Corporate Solutions Group (CSG), the firm was founded in affiliation with American Express to provide investment banking services for the middle-market clients of American Express. Soon after its founding, CSG expanded its resources and expertise by acquiring Synergy Capital, a New York-based broker-dealer. By 2003, the CSG management team divested the firm from American Express and began growing its advisory practice on a national scale. The firm experienced significant growth, and due to increasing business opportunities on the West Coast, opened a San Francisco office in 2008.
CSG is truly unique. CSG was formed because large investment banks and service providers were not meeting the needs of middle-market clients, particularly on ESOP transactions. Investment banks largely overlook or misunderstand ESOPs, which can be a powerful corporate financial tool. Also, traditional ESOP services providers—who can play an important role in a transaction—lack investment banking expertise and capabilities.
In response, CSG put together a unique group of professionals to best serve middle-market clients. Several of our Managing Directors previously were CEOs of publicly-traded and private companies. Unlike other firms, we bring practical business expertise and an owner’s perspective to investment banking. We also assembled a highly talented team of corporate finance professionals—with backgrounds in investment banking, private equity, commercial banking, law, and accounting. They joined CSG from Wall Street firms and other leading institutions, including Barclay’s Capital, GE Capital, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Oliver Wyman, PNC, and Prudential.
The result? A unique investment bank specializing in liquidity and capital strategies for middle-market companies, with unrivaled expertise and solutions.
Because of CSG’s unique expertise and approach, the firm has experienced substantial growth. Since 2002, the firm has structured over 120 ESOP transactions for companies with an aggregate enterprise value of $7 Billion. The firm has also structured M&A liquidity transactions for notable public and private companies. For capital advisory engagements, CSG has raised or restructured over $2 Billion in capital.
But regardless of our growth, we remain committed to one goal: delivering superior results for clients.
